Zecathon 5
Hackathon platform for Beyond Limits Global
The registration and event platform for Zecathon 5, a hackathon run by Beyond Limits Global, built to absorb a hard registration spike and hold up on launch day.
The problem
Event sites have an unusual load profile: almost nothing for weeks, then everything at once when registration opens and again on the day. That spike is exactly when the site cannot be down, and it is the moment sponsors are watching.
What we did
Built as a fast, static-delivered front end so the traffic spike hits a CDN rather than an origin server.
Designed the registration flow to be short enough to finish on a phone, on mobile data, in one sitting.
Used a lightweight build with no heavyweight framework overhead, keeping time-to-interactive low on mid-range Android devices.
Outcome
Shipped on schedule and held through the registration surge and event day without degradation.
What we delivered
